SoftSimConsult Ltd

About

SoftSim Consult Ltd. is an interdisciplinary engineering company founded 2014 Sofia, Bulgaria. SoftSim provides consultancy services in building physics, urban environment, and numerical modelling. By solving complex engineering tasks, we provide unique outsourcing solutions to our clients, including wind engineering companies and consultancies in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry sector, all related to Urban Physics Modelling (UPM).

The UPM studies and analyses are based on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), bulk zone modelling, analytical and empirical laws, and methodologies based on the best engineering practice. The UPM solutions are dedicated to assisting architects, engineers, designers, and planners to enhance and optimise building design and energy performance and solve environmental problems using state-of-the-art numerical simulations and studies. The solutions are based on well-validated and verified methodologies, codes, and guides (ASHRAE, CIBSE, City of London Guidelines, BCA Green Mark guide, etc.). With the help of numerical tools (commercial, freeware or in-house developed), SoftSim strives to provide clients with the best and most effective solutions and services.

SoftSim has completed over 200 UPM commercial projects worldwide, supplying 3D and numerical modelling for wind engineering and AEC companies. The company has also participated in multiple research projects with scientific centres within the Technical University of Sofia and the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Sofia, located in Bulgaria.

Team

SoftSim team is comprised of various education and background engineers. The team has built competence in wind microclimate, wind analyses, outdoor and indoor thermal environments, pollutant dispersions, and air quality, with an emphasis on the comfort and safety impact assessments and architectural planning.

Dr. Ahmed Ahmedov

Dr. Ahmed Ahmedov is a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) engineer at SoftSim. He is responsible for the preparation of CFD models in the domain of UPM, concept optimizations, and proposing mitigation measures based on numerical assessments. Ahmed holds a PhD from the University of Ruse, Bulgaria, in the domain of renewable energy sources - numerical modelling of wind turbine performance. Ahmed has experience in the automotive sector as a research associate in product development for powertrain vehicle control systems in the UK. He was involved in industrial research projects on hybrid electric vehicle energy management control systems. Furthermore, he has experience as a thermal (CFD) simulation expert in the automotive lighting sector.

Mr. Anri Haxhi

Mr. Anri Haxhi is a Principal Project Engineer at SoftSim, responsible for constructing 3D models for UPM projects and CAD services for wind tunnel testing. Driven by a keen interest in engineering design, he gained extensive experience in architectural 3D modelling and 3D printing. After graduation, he started to follow professional development within the field of engineering design and 3D modelling. In his current role, he is responsible for 3D modelling and 3D printing activities within SoftSim.

Eng. Nina Nikolova

Eng. Nina Nikolova is a Principal Project Engineer of SoftSim, responsible for delivering UPM studies and assessments. Nina graduated with an MSc in Structural Engineering with the topic "The effect of wind on buildings" at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Sofia (Bulgaria). She joined SoftSim in 2022 and has a keen interest in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), UPM and environmental impact assessments.

Dr. Sergey Mijorski

Dr. Sergey Mijorski is a Managing Director of SoftSim and is responsible for overall work processes, technical development activities, and company management. A broad engineering background gained as a graduate of industrial engineering and post-graduate of computer science led him to the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge and experience in the field of Urban Physics Modelling (UPM) as a PhD candidate and research fellow. Continuous professional development and work in the field of UPM in UK and EU made him a good professional in numerical modelling and environmental impact assessments.

Mrs. Simona Nacheva

Mrs. Simona Nacheva is a Project Engineer at SoftSim, responsible for constructing 3D models for UPM projects and CAD services for wind tunnel testing. Driven by a keen interest in design, she is highly motivated to gain experience in architectural 3D and UPM. In her current role within the company, she is responsible for 3D modelling activities and numerical results post-processing and visualisation of various environmental impact assessments.

Mr. Titko Titkov

Mr. Titko Titkov is a Project Engineer at SoftSim, responsible for constructing 3D models for UPM projects and CAD services for wind tunnel testing. After majoring in Fine Arts in high school, Titko pursued a bachelor's degree in software engineering and a master's in Technological Entrepreneurship and Innovations in IT. As a 3D artist with over five years of professional experience, Titko has a keen interest in digital sculpture and has developed a strong portfolio in the game, film, and product visualization/digital fashion industries. In his current role, he is responsible for 3D modelling, 3D printing activities, and software development within SoftSim.
