Barca Stadium redevelopment is a high-profile project completed by SoftSim Consult and located in Barcelona, Spain. Our team was responsible for numerical modelling activities completed to support the design teams in various steps of the redesigning process.
CFD assessments were completed for wind microclimate and thermal comfort within different target zones of Barca Stadium redevelopment. The assessment results have supported the design teams in improving outdoor thermal comfort conditions at the spectators’ and field of play zones. Wind microclimate comfort was improved at pedestrian zones around the stadium and all elevated access levels around the bowl.
Furthermore, wind pressure modelling was completed to support the structural design team for the 360-degree halo video screens at the top of the stadium roof prior to wind tunnel testing.
